In the classic style, the flowers or small buttons, which are arranged to create ornamental designs, are given the name of rosette. Nevertheless, it will be from the XIII century when they increase in importance because of its dense foliage. The rosette or minor keys are not keys that close anything, contrarily to the rosettes that appear above the main key indicating the critic point of the dome, but they offer a great visual spectacle of tracery, the perfect decoration that perhaps masks the convergence of tertiary, ligatures and ribs.
This circular ornament is chiseled imitating a flower. It provided elegant details to luxury houses and public buildings in the XVIII and XIX centuries. In our opinion, it is a recurrent decoration thanks to its great visual impact that can transform a wall or ceiling into a mural, being on its own or in groups.
